God’s Word: Never Misquote It!

Whenever you quote God’s word, be sure the bible says so. Do not misquote it, let it be as the bible has stated it. If you do not remember any part of it, please stop exactly where you know it, do not say let me just make up my own sentence or words to complete it. I am sharing this from a personal experience I had a little while ago. Then I was not fully into Christ, I was partly with him and partly in the world. I was everywhere then, I was in for any religion that could profit me. I did not really believe in Christ then, I saw Christianity then as just going to Church on Sundays. I was having challenges then and someone advised that I pray especially at night that God still answers prayer, I decided to give it a try. On that particular night, I woke up to pray. I prayed and I used God’s word to back up my prayers like I was advised. While quoting his word, I realised I only knew the first part of it and I totally did not remember the completing part of it, so I quickly decided to make up another sentence of my own to complete it, I use words which were not related to that particular verse of the bible nor any other verse of the bible, I can still remember that when I did this something told me I have erred but I did not care much about it because to me, I have quoted God’s word. After I prayed, I went to bed. You see, God is really merciful, though I was not really a hundred percent  Christian but God in his infinite mercies found me. While I slept, I had this revelation. I found myself in a house which had many rooms in it and I saw in each of the rooms people of different religions. The house was built in a way that One room face the other room., with a passage in between them. The Muslims were in one room, the  Idol worshipers were in another room, those that practice Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism etc also had one room each to themselves. Before then I used to see the Islamic and Christians religion as the same because to me the Christians God and the Muslims Allah are one and the same God. In the dream the Christians were in a room different from that of the Muslims.
I was not in any of the rooms, it actually depicts my present state then because I was not in any particular religion, like I said earlier, I was everywhere. In the dream, I was in the passage room of that house, the room that leads to the rooms which had people of diverse religions. I was walking to and fro the passage room. When I got close to the rooms where the Christians where, I noticed they were very very few in number, I saw a man, he was so pure and holy and he told me he was Jesus Christ, he was teaching them, he was standing and the Christians sat on the floor listening to him. They all wore plain light blue linen in a comfortable long robe which covered their bodies down to their feet. Then Jesus Christ, noticed me in that dream, he left those he was teaching and walked up to me, and stood by the door, then he said to meWHY DID YOU USED MY WORD WRONGLY ?” I could not say any thing, I was speechless, I was so ashamed of me, then I knew I have really erred. Then Jesus Christ added ” DO NOT USE MY WORD WRONGLY.,  that was when I woke up. When I woke up, I knew it was not just a dream but a revelation. God visited me that day, though I was a sinner but he came to me and corrected my errors then  I realised  that the bible is not mere words, it it not a story book but those words in it are spirit and life like Jesus said in  JOHN 6:63…….. the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”. Those words are Christ himself in words like the bible said in JOHN 1:1&14In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The scripture really cannot be broken. We must never even attempt to break nor twist it.  JOHN 10:35…………. the scripture cannot be broken“. I pity those that twist God’s word. Do not say the scripture said what it does not say. Quote the scripture the way it is in the bible, I mean bible with version containing non twisted word of God.

The word of God has life in it, it is the word of life. It goes wherever you send it. The word of God is real. Do not misuse it, do not take it lightly. It is powerful. See HEBREWS 4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”.
REVELATION 19:11- 16 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name writtenKing Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

Bible verses that warn against twisting God’s word and we are to learn from it:

2 PETER 3:16
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
2 PETER 2:1-2
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
JEREMIAH 23:28-36
The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the Lord.
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.
Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the Lord, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the Lord.
And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the Lord? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the Lord.
And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the Lord, I will even punish that man and his house.
Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the Lord answered? and, What hath the Lord spoken?
And the burden of the Lord shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the Lord of hosts our God.
