THANK YOU JESUS, HAVE YOU SAID IT TODAY? 1 CHRONICLES 16:34.
The bible admonishes us to give thanks to God no matter the situation. It is good to give thanks to God for this makes God step in for us. When we are thankful it shows we appreciate that which have been given to us. It shows respect on how part. For it is disrespectful not to give thanks.
Giving thanks to God tells God that that which we have received went a long way in settling the problem. Have you ever helped someone in difficulty and the person went away without a word of thanks? If yes, how did you feel?, you see it is hurtful when you go away without saying thank you.
Let me use the Bible to drive home my points:
1 Chronicles 16:34– “Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever”.
It is good to give thanks to the LORD. When we thank God it means we are grateful for all he has done and what he is yet to do. We should not render thanks to God only when he has done something for us rather we should learn to appreciate God with thanksgiving for things not yet done because by doing so we quicken our miracles to happen timeously. God is love and all he does for us is ever the best for us.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you”.
No matter the problem we are facing, we must learn to say thank you Jesus. Before you go to bed thank him, when you wake up tell him thank you, when you fall give him thanks, when you rise up thank him, when you are sick or healthy tell him thank you, for everything tell him thank you because he owns your life not you. When you lose a valuable tell God thank you because he is the reason why you have not lost them all. We can never thank him enough but we can only thank him some more.
Psalms 100:4 “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, and bless his name.”
The bible tells us here that we should come before God with thanksgiving, not murmuring, regretting not with sorrowful faces . The first thing we should do when we come into his presence is to give him thanks. There is always something to thank God for, no matter what. Even when you think there is nothing to thank God for, remember he is the breath you take, the air you breath in and out. The reason why you are still alive. Even when you have nothing to eat thank him for the water you drink, thank him for your health and even if your health is not 100 percent the best, still thank him because he has kept you alive till now.
God created us to thank and praise him, for we do not expect him to raise up stones to do that. We could be sick and with thanksgiving God can pull us out of that condition.
Philippians 4:6 “ In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God”. The bible is telling us here that even with thanksgiving we can make our requests be known to God. When you are grateful to God, you are indirectly telling him to do more for you.
Colossians 3:17 “Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him”.
The bible admonishes us to give thanks to God in whatever we do be it in word or in deed. In everything we must learn to say thank you Jesus.
Even when you have your loved one on a dying bed, do not start asking God why he has abandoned you rather begin to give him thanks for that person because he can still turn the story around because it is never too late with God. Remember he raised Lazarus from the dead even while he was four days gone and already stinking. Jesus himself gave thanks to God before he raised Lazarus from the dead., see John 11:41-44 “So they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, “Father, I thank you that you listened to me. I know that you always listen to me, but because of the multitude that stands around I said this, that they may believe that you sent me.” When he had said this, he cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” He who was dead came out, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth.
Jesus said to them, “Free him, and let him go.”
We can do mightily through thanksgiving to God.
Psalms 95: 2- 4. “Let’s come before his presence with thanksgiving. Let’s extol him with songs!, For Yahweh is a great God, a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth. The heights of the mountains are also his”.
